Following its partnership with Leica earlier this year for a limited-edition Q2 compact camera, Disney is now introducing an even more exclusive project to Fujifilm; 100 Disney-themed X100V compact cameras with commemorative Disney 100th anniversary (and Fujifilm 55th anniversary) brand accessories.
You won’t be able to buy a Fuji X100V in 2023 You’ll be even luckier (or single-minded) if you can get your hands on one of these Disney-themed editions; live pre-orders begin on July 13, 2023 at three stores across Hong Kong, with a release date of July 29, 2023.
this Fujifilm Disney Project Site One of the 100 cameras announced has a price tag of HK$14,999, each with a unique serial number. That translates to around $1,918 / £1,465 / AU$2,807 – not a bad deal for one best compact camera Part of the proceeds will be donated to The Community Chest of Hong Kong to support its children and youth services through 2023.
what’s in the box
Well…the luxury wooden box is part of the package itself, and inside you’ll find a Disney-themed X100V that’s functionally identical to the original model. Only the revised aesthetic is new; a monochrome Disney Mickey and Friends collection design on the faux leather face, plus Disney’s 100 and unique serial number engraved on the top plate of the camera.
Additional accessories include a thumb rest, camera strap and leather half bag, all featuring Disney 100 branding. Considering the asking price is similar to the regular X100V, it’s actually a bit cheap and has an interesting design. It’s also novel that a brand other than Leica is launching a limited edition of a coveted camera. I have always wanted to go to Hong Kong… How much is the ticket now…
