What is artificial intelligence?
AI, or artificial intelligence, is a branch of computer science that aims to understand and store human intelligence, mimic human abilities (including completing tasks), process human language, and perform speech recognition. Despite the growing interest in AI around the world, the science poses an existential crisis for jobs, companies, entire industries, and potentially human existence. In March, Goldman Sachs released a report warning the public of the threat to employment AI and ChatGPT, An AI chatbot developed by AI research firm OpenAI poses. The report shows that jobs with repetitive duties and some manual labor are at risk of automation. The report concluded that AI could affect 300 million jobs.

In simple terms, artificial intelligence is computer science capable of accomplishing tasks that humans have already done or require human intelligence to do.
AI uses technology to learn and recreate human tasks. Currently, AI’s ability to perform human tasks better than we can in some cases poses a threat to the workforce.

1. Reactor
Reactive machines are task-specific and are a basic form of artificial intelligence. They react to the input given to them and provide the same output. In the form of reactive machines, AI does not learn new concepts. These machines apply datasets and make recommendations based on existing input.
An example of a react machine is Recommendations section in Netflix. Streaming services recommend TV shows and movies to users based on their searches and viewing history.

2. Limited memory
Limited memory makes sense by storing previously captured and learned data, and builds knowledge for the future based on its findings. An example of limited memory is self-driving cars.

3. Theory of mind
Theory of mind means that human beings have thoughts, feelings, emotions, desires, etc., which affect their daily behavior and decisions. In order for an AI to acquire a theory of mind, it must understand that everyone has feelings and develop the ability to change its behavior the way humans do.

4. Self-awareness
Finally, the developmental phase will be complete when the AI becomes self-aware. AI self-awareness is the most challenging of all AI types, as machines will achieve human-level awareness, emotion, empathy, etc., and be able to empathize accordingly.
Once a machine has learned self-awareness, it will have the ability to form its own identity.
Self-awareness at this stage is currently impossible. To make self-awareness possible, scientists need to find a way to replicate consciousness in machines.

While Siri is capable of assisting with many tasks, such as announcing phone calls or text messages, playing music, shortcutting smart device apps, and more, it struggles with tasks beyond its immediate capabilities.
According to deepAI.org, ANI systems are not self-aware and do not possess true intelligence.
ANI uses data sets with specific information to accomplish tasks and cannot go beyond the data provided to it.
