We could be just a few days away from the Google Pixel 7a’s official launch, and now unboxing images of the mid-range phone have leaked online, showing off the phone’s design and the two colors it will be available in.
These snapshots appear to have been provided by experienced informants snoopy (opens in a new tab) (pass 9to5Google (opens in a new tab)), they exhibited a shape, size, and aesthetic very much as we expected. For example, the familiar Pixel camera bump is visible on the back.
We’re taking a look at the dark gray version of the Pixel 7a, which will apparently be called Cobalt, and the light blue version, which will be called Arctic Blue. This shade of blue is a new hue for the Pixel line and has also appeared in previously leaked images.

These photos also show us the simple packaging of the upcoming Google Pixel 7a. As with recent models like the Google Pixel 6a, don’t expect a power adapter in the box — you’ll need to buy one separately.
These images that have now emerged suggest that the launch is nearing completion. All signs point to Google announcing the phone at the Google IO 2023 event, which kicks off with a keynote on May 10.

Analysis: The Pixel 7a looks promising
Of course, you can’t really judge a phone until it’s out, but everything we’ve heard about the Pixel 7a so far—from fairly reliable, unofficial sources—suggests that Google is already working on the Pixel 7a. Another promising phone was produced in the series.
Overall, we were impressed by the Google Pixel 7 and Google Pixel 7 Pro, so mid-range versions of these phones offer some reasonable trade-offs between performance and price and should be an attractive proposition .
When it comes to the Pixel 6a’s upgrade, the specs under the hood will be noticeably better, and Face Unlock is also rumored to be coming to the Pixel 7a — which would be the first phone in the mid-range series, the most popular .
Just a few days ago, we saw the Pixel 7a leaked in a rather attractive orange color, and we like the look of it too. As always, the price point will be very important, so we hope that this phone will be released at a reasonable price.
