Predictions Mr. Trump posted to Truth Social on March 18 that he would be indicted drove nearly 400,000 visits from the US to the fledgling social media site that day, the firm found. Since March 1, 2022, the site has averaged about 200,000 daily visits from the United States. The data does not include traffic from Truth Social’s Apple or Android apps.
The indictment didn’t arrive when Mr. Trump said it would, and traffic slowed down. Last Thursday, when the indictment was officially announced, traffic surged again, with more than 314,000 visits to the site from the US.
Since its official launch in February 2022, Truth Social has grown in influence in conservative circles. But its business prospects dimmed as the site struggled to secure funding and launched an ad business that was undermined by fringe advertisers.
