With just a few weeks until a claim is filed, it’s time to find out if you qualify for a piece of the settlement pie, and how sweet it is. Eligible consumers who bought MacBooks between 2015 and 2019 and had to replace the keyboard or keys could receive reimbursement ranging from $50 to $395, depending on the number of repairs required.
So, what did Apple do wrong? According to the lawsuit, customers reported problems with the Butterfly keyboard, including repeated characters, missing letters and unresponsive “sticky” keys. Despite complaints, the tech giant allegedly failed to replace faulty keyboards or recall computers, and only launched a repair program in 2018.
