My son asked me where I lived in Los Angeles for a few months over 25 years ago. It was a gig working for Unisys that was far from memorable. He found that address, along with my other addresses and cell phone number, on a free people search site. OK
This is what inspired me to achieve widespread success opt out tuesday Series on Komando.com. Every Tuesday, we walk you through all the steps to remove your personal information from different people search sites. It’s a lot of work because these sites aren’t easy.
Opt-Out Tuesday is so popular, people searching sites are fighting back. After all, the less personal information they have about you and me, the less money they make.

opt out tuesday Get compliments, and, change. Suddenly, I noticed a steady stream of emails and social media posts from people who were having a hard time opting out of people search sites. That’s because the opt-out process can change at any time — without warning. I can only assume that the traffic we sent to the site’s deletion page was the culprit.

My team spent almost 48 hours opting out of every person search site again for the information you need to do the same.
Your friends and relatives don’t even know these sites exist. Let them know you are protecting your online privacy and encourage them to do the same. I bet they will thank you.

Intelius is one of the most famous data brokers on the web. The old Intelius exit link is broken, so you need to use the PeopleConnect suppression tool. Let’s start there.
NOTE: Please follow these steps exactly. One wrong click can disrupt the entire process.
- go suppression.peopleconnect.us/login.
- Enter your email address, read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and click submit.
- Check your inbox for a confirmation email from no-reply@verifications.peopleconnect.us.click verification email button in the message.
- Enter your name and email address, scroll down, and click save when you are done.
- Back at the top of the page, select Suppression Settings tab, and wait for your message to appear.
- If the information matches yours, select Visibility settings drop-down menu and select suppress.
- If you can’t find your information, select Identification tab Go back to the previous page at the top.
- beat edit identity button and enter more information, such as another email address you use. Verifying more of your information may help find your matching profile on the site.
Note: PeopleConnect uses the suppression tool as the best way to stop people from finding you on their site, but there is also a removal option. Before you do so, please understand that PeopleConnect states that deleting your data will also delete your suppressions.
With that in mind, here’s how to delete data:
- go suppression.peopleconnect.us/privacy center and scroll down to right to delete part.
- Enter your email address. If you followed the suppression steps above, your information may already be in the system and you will not have to enter your email address again.

- beat delete my user data button. You will receive a message stating that you must complete the process via a link in the email.
- Check your inbox for a message from privacy@verifications.peopleconnect.us. Click the link at the bottom to permanently delete your account data.
- You will be taken to a confirmation page. Keep an eye out for another email confirming deletion.
If you have already completed the PeopleConnect removal process for Intelius or another site, you will receive an email stating that there is no record associated with your email.
