Here’s what we know about the Netflix crackdown
It all depends on the fingerprint of your family account.
Traffic on the internet can be down to the unique broadband connection in your home. Netflix may be planning to match your home’s unique IP address to verify your account.
According to a leaked help page related to sharing an account with someone outside your household, Netflix may check that location information and compare it to Netflix account logins outside of your residence. Logins located outside of your address will be required to confirm account credentials every 31 days.
Netflix has long warned that it will end password sharing in 2023, so whether these rules were issued on purpose or not, it represents the battle that is about to be waged in the United States.
Netflix has come to rule over multiple people sharing a single account Central and South American countries Including Chile, Costa Rica and Peru, this may just be a trial run of a larger plan.

War on Netflix cheap eaters
Netflix last year rolled out a subscription model with lower-cost advertising to crack down on non-paying subscribers. Netflix estimates that 100 million people get free movies and TV shows from the service.

People quickly posted workarounds online to crack passwords. They involve sharing a toll-free number that instantly forwards a verification text to everyone on the account. Another suggested using a VPN, or virtual private network, which would obscure the ability to determine the location of each login, making it appear they were all watching Netflix from the same physical address.

Once this news is out, you can bet Netflix engineers will be in charge of developing a plan to counter the loss with other possible ways to further tighten authentication controls. If Netflix wanted to tighten it even further, it could already regulate by allowing only a few or one stream per account at a time.
For the vast majority of people who use other people’s streaming accounts for free, the days of watching Netflix without a legal subscription appear to be coming to an end.
