There are many popular attractions in Johor Bahru, but everyone generally only goes to a few familiar places, and there are still many attractions that have not been discovered! Be aware that Johor Bahru also has a variety of great shopping malls, amusement parks and streets, perfect for locals and tourists alike for a vacation or even a day trip. Today, I will share with you some attractions that everyone must know!

1. Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque

The Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque, which is located on Jalan Skudai Street, has a bird’s eye view of the Straits of Johor. It is very close to The Royal Abu Bakar Museum. Built in 1900, the Sultan Abu Bakar State Mosque is a mixture of two distinct styles.

These are Victorian and Moorish styles, with some Malay influence. The mosque is not open to non-muslims. As a mark of respect, modest and decent clothing is required. Before entering the museum, shoes must be taken off. Thistle Hotel is the closest Johor hotel to the state mosque. These hotels are located in central Johor Bahru, which allows tourists to easily travel the entire day.

2. City Square

City Square is centrally located in the city, just a stones throw from the immigration checkpoint.

More than 300 shops can be found in City Square. There are many restaurants, entertainment, and fashion options. It has everything you need to please your senses.

Inner City is a unique area of the city square. It houses smallish accessory and fashion shops as well as restaurants in a cozy, intimate setting. After a long day of shopping, relax your feet at one of the many cafes and restaurants. You can also get a foot massage or rest your feet in a relaxing salon.

3.Komtar JBCC

Komtar JBCC, one of the shopping centers in Johor Bahru (Johor), Malaysia. It was opened in November 2014. It is located adjacent to Johor Bahru City Square.

This new extension was built in the same area as the Komtar original building. This mall has a cafe, a supermarket, a bazaar, and children-centric outlets. There are also 1,700 parking spaces in the four-level carpark. The 3rd floor of the shopping center houses an Angry Birds Activity Park.

4. Johor Zoo

Johor Zoo can be found at Jalan Gertak Melah, the heart of Johor Bahru. It is located near the Royal Museum and Johor Bahru Palace Grouds. Zoo Johor was built in 1928 and is one of the oldest zoos of Malaysia.

Zoo Johor is home to more than 100 animals, including endangered species such as gorillas, sea otters, and tigers. Johor Zoo also has common animals like horses, lions, flamingos and beavers.

Clean and well-organized, the zoo has food stalls that sell clean food. Johor Zoo is a great place to bring the family, as there are also animal shows that can be enjoyed during their scheduled times. Each person pays RM3 to enter.

5. Legoland Malaysia and its Water Park

Legoland Malaysia Resort is located at Jalan Legoland and is divided into multiple areas. Legoland Malaysia Water Park, one of the most popular areas where you can enjoy the waterpark rides. There are over 15 thrilling rides and 20 slides that make the water park a great place for families to enjoy a whole day. The journey to Legoland Malaysia Water Park takes less than an hour. It can be accessed by bus or car via the Woodlands Causeway Checkpoint and the Tuas Second Link Checkpoint.

Wave Pool is the first attraction that you see once you pass through the gates. You can cool off or just relax by the pool. There are 8 water slides at the park. They vary in their height, intensity, and capacity. Some are better suited for younger children, others are best done with a group of people and some are pure thrills.

Imagination Station is one of the most popular attractions at Legoland. Two stations are available where children can make things out of DUPLO bricks. They can also test their skills by firing water jets at them. Or, they can control the flow of the water by making patterns or channels that allow water to flow through.
