Disney fans will soon be able to use Amazon’s Alexa to bring beloved characters into their homes and hotel rooms at Disney resorts, Amazon said.

The Hey Disney experience is scheduled to launch later this year.

However, Amazon offered an early preview during its presentation at CES.

The voice assistant on the Echo smart speaker — which is free at select Disney resort hotels — is built using the Alexa Custom Assistant voice artificial intelligence foundation.

“Disney Magic Companion” voice assistant is the voice of Hey Disney.

The service, which will be available in the Alexa Skills Store in the US in the coming months, will allow customers to say “Hey Disney!” to experience more than 20 Disney, Pixar and Star Wars characters, as well as hear jokes, listen to soundscapes and play trivia.

Hey Disney will also support Disney’s MagicBand+, which Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort guests can use to interact with shows, enter the park, redeem Lightning Lane passes and more.

Those staying at the hotel will be able to ask questions about parking hours, request fresh towels and use other features.

Disney began installing Echo Home devices with Hey Disney in limited hotel rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
