- Select You from the menu bar.
- Tap your data in the assistant to see what information you have listed.
Delete some or all private data
Google Assistant saves a recording of every voice command Google Home hears, which helps the software better understand your voice and carry out future commands. However, it is not critical to the operation of the device. Here’s how to delete that and all other data:
- Go to Your Data on the Assistant page.
- Under Your Assistant Activities, click My Activities.
- To the right of the search bar at the top of the page, click the three stacked dots icon.
- Click Delete Event.
- If you want to start from scratch, tap all the time. Otherwise, you can choose to delete all data collected in the past hour or last day, or create a custom range, for example, from the day you started using Google Home to the last month.
- The app will ask you to confirm that you want to delete your Google Assistant activity for a specified period of time. Click Delete to confirm.
- You’ll see this message: “Deletion complete.” in the lower right corner. Click Got it to return to the main Google Assistant activity page.

You can also set Google Assistant to no longer keep logs of your data; however, this may cause issues with Google Assistant functionality. If your privacy is important to you and you’re willing to deal with anything from a few glitches now and then to a completely unusable Google Assistant, from the main Google Assistant activity page:
- Scroll down to “Web & App Activity is On” and tap “Change Settings.”
- Turn off the switch next to Web & App Activity.
A screen will pop up warning you that “Pausing web and app activity may limit or disable more personalized experiences across Google services.” At the bottom of the screen, press Pause to stop Google from recording your activity. Please note that changing this setting will not delete your personal data from Google. It just stops Google Assistant from logging any more data.
After pressing Pause, you’ll be returned to the main Google Assistant activity page.

- After adding your number, make sure your own phone number is selected under Your linked services.
- Go to Contacts and select Upload Now to sync contacts from your phone.
