How to Share Your Google Maps Location on iPhone, iPad, Android or a Web Browser

  • Go to your Google Maps app (make sure your app is updated to the latest version) or log into Google Maps at Google.com/maps
  • Tap your profile photo in the top right corner
  • click location sharing
  • Click the “Share Location” button
  • In the first line you see, select the How much time You are sharing your location. If you don’t want to share your location indefinitely, be sure to set a time frame when you travel and then expire (i.e. “1 hour” or “until you turn this feature off”).
  • On the next line, Choose who you want to share your location with。 NOTE: Anyone with the link you email or text can see your name, photo and real-time location.
  • click share button
  • Your contact will receive an email or text message with a link. Once clicked, your contacts can view your location on Google Maps on their device.

Can I share with people who don’t have a Google account?

Yes, you can share your Google Maps location with people who don’t have a Google Account. The steps to do this are slightly different.

  • On your mobile device or tablet, open the Google Map application
  • click on your avatar then go location sharing
  • click location sharing
  • click more choices
  • A sort of share with link A menu will pop up.click “share” button
  • tap copy Copy your location share link
  • Paste the link into an email, text, or other messaging app and send it to anyone you want to share your location with.
