Whether using iPhone or Android, there are ways to alleviate this problem.

Apple has some tips on its website that iPhone users can use.

Enable low power mode

Low Power Mode, introduced with iOS 9, is an easy way to extend your iPhone’s battery life. Enable it by going to Settings and then Battery.

Low battery mode will automatically turn off when the phone is charged again.

View battery usage information

Manage your device’s battery life by monitoring what percentage of each app is using, including background activity, location and background location, home and lock screens, and absence of cell coverage and low signal.

To check usage, go to Settings, then to Battery.

Batteries drain faster at high temperatures – even when not in use.
