Breast cancer is a growing problem in low- and middle-income countries, yet screening programs for early detection are rare.

A company in India has developed a cheaper, non-invasive test that uses thermal imaging and artificial intelligence.

Although considered less reliable than mammograms, it is hoped that the test can help detect some early-stage cancers in people who might not otherwise be able to get mammograms.

The FDA says mammograms are the best way to screen for breast cancer.
