Layoffs and hiring freezes don’t just affect senior staff. Some tech companies have fired or canceled job offers for recent college graduates. Some companies have also cut summer internship programs for college students next year.
The industry slowdown is hitting a generation of computer science and data science students who have spent years preparing for careers at the biggest tech companies. Many recent graduates and college graduates are looking for tech jobs outside of tech industries, such as retail, banking, and finance.
