With the holidays just around the corner, Gmail aims to help U.S. shoppers with new tracking features.

Google says users can see an “easy” view of packaging and tracking delivery information right in their inbox.

For orders with tracking numbers, Gmail will show delivery status in the inbox view list and in a summary card at the top of individual emails.

Most major U.S. shipping carriers will offer package tracking services, providing details including estimated arrival data and status.

“We also know what it’s like to wait for a package only to find it delayed. Over the next few months, Gmail will help smooth out some surprises. It will proactively display delayed labels and bring emails to the top of the inbox so that You’ll never miss a beat (or a package),” Google said, noting that there will be new features in Gmail.
