Maggie Grout started the NGO Thinking Huts as a teenager with the goal of establishing 3D printing schools in countries where children lack educational opportunities.
She just printed her first school in Madagascar – the second 3D printing school in the world.
After setting up the printer, printing school is fast and saves on building materials.
Maggie said she was willing to help poor children in part because she was born in a poor area in China and was adopted by American parents.
Next year, she plans to print a village school in different parts of Madagascar, a country where one in five children does not even attend primary school.
